About
Scottish photographer who went west.
In a previous life I was one of the top-selling stock photographers globally. My work has appeared on billboards, book covers, national ad campaigns, and in major publications worldwide.
Now I'm in Calgary, embracing the western life and building work around the things I actually love. 1950s and 60s Americana, cowboys, rodeo, ranch culture, vintage cars, prairie towns, and the people who make it all real.
I shoot on Leica. The simplicity and analogue feel of these cameras fit perfectly in the same world as the subjects I'm drawn to. The rendering, the tonal range, the way they handle light. Occasionally I'll reach for a Hasselblad 500CM when the subject calls for medium format film and that extra layer of grain and texture.
This is the work I feel I was always supposed to be making.
